When the initial plan to renovate the original 1850s barn on the property was rendered impossible due to carpenter ants, all reusable wood was salvaged and used. The Studio’s design honors the layout of the original barn, and the lower level is accessible on multiple sides.
Insulated concrete forms were used for their high insulation value and structural integrity. The bottom level of the Studio houses a guest suite space.
