A Bucky Fuller style geodesic dome as a retirement home in Vermont?! The geometry proved fascinating. We highlighted the direct simplicity of the sphere by choosing a 5/8 dome to avoid an igloo effect. All windows and doors were recessed to maintain the gentle, rounded outline. A stone fireplace and sweeping radial porch entry anchor the form. Rainwater is gathered in a reflecting pool surrounding a fire pit. With intrinsic beauty, both materials and views unite the inside and outside worlds, each complementing the other.
